Mike Gundy Is Not Happy With A Certain Columnist.

After yesterday’s 49-45 win over Texas Tech, Mike Gundy took Daily Oklahoman columnist Jenni Carlson to task for this column she’d written about QB Bobby Reid. It is a glorious verbal smackdown, and makes me think he at least had bullet points on a note card for this, if not completely written out and rehearsed.

Mmmmm….that’s good bile!

  1. Damn, what a retort. no foul language, no gender insults. Just a righteous takedown of
a lazy journalist who wrote an awful column. Excellent.

  2. There is a reason the School of Journalism at Columbia consistently ranks the Daily Oklahoman as one of the worst papers in America.

Wouldn’t have anything to do with the fact that the Oklahoman is one of the more conservative papers in the country, would it?

Anyway, I doubt Columbia gives a damn about the sports page.

As for Gundy, it may just be me, but I’m inclined to ignore what people say when they go off on screaming tirades, a la Howard Dean.

  5. We are so proud of you, Mike, and hope you NEVER leave us. You are an inspiration to all who ever attended OSU and the Nation now knows the kind of people we are in Oklahoma, and especially those that wave the orange flag of OSU. Both my husband and I graduated from OSU in 1957 from OAMC, and I have 5th generation grandchildren now proudly graduating from OSU.

Thank you for making all of us Cowboys so thankful for your comments and your fortitude.

  6. Yes! What a breath of fresh air to see someone speak the truth for a change instead of worrying about being pc. Amen, Mike! We’re with ya buddy!

  7. Mike Gundy is a champion for his players. If you want to read an article that sums it up well, go to the Kansas City Star for whom Jenni Carlson previously worked. It is eloquently written and is the best summation of the situation. If anyone has the audacity to comment on this without reading Carlson’s article then they just don’t get it.
