Celtics 92, Cavs 87 – LeBron James comes back from a first half injury to score 26 and become the youngest to get to 10,000 points, but the Celtics pull away behind Kevin Garnett’s 18 points and 11 boards (he has 11,000 boards for his career). The Cavs shot a miserable 38% from the floor.
Hornets 120, Suns 103 – Steve Nash is Chris Paul’s bitch. Paul torched Nash for 25 points and 15 dimes, while Tyson Chandler resumed double-doubling in his battle against Shaq. Jannero Pargo had 22, Peja hit for 17, and Amare had 32 in the losing cause.
Nuggets 138, Sonics 96 – Ouch. The Nuggets shot 67% for the game, which is a new team record. AI led with 31, Kenyon Martin had 23, Melo had 16, Linas Kleiza 12.
Jazz 103, Pistons 95 – How do you blow a 15 point lead with five minutes left in the third? Allow Paul Milsap to score 16 of his 19 in the second half and then let Mehmet Okur hit dagger threes to get back in it.
Hawks 123, Kings 118 – Mike Bibby gets his shine on the home debut against his former team: 24 points and 12 assists, some of them to Joe Johnson, who knocked down 26 — Josh Childress added 25. Beno Udrih and Brad Miller hit 25 for the Kings; Ron-Ron had 23 in the loss.
