Colts 28, Jaguars 25 – This game is close every time; the Colts rearely win this one going away any more. Peyton Manning looked like Peyton Manning again, throwing 4 touchdowns, 2 to Dallas Clark, one to Reggie Wayne, and another on a shovel pass. Two of those four came after coach challenges that went in Indy’s favor. The Jags offense started to come back after the first two Indy touchdowns, but the Colts held on late.
Bills 17, Redskins 16 – An emotional tribute to Sean Taylor at the start of the game is wasted along with the Redskins’ stout defense (which didn’t give up a touchdown), as Joe Gibbs stupidly tries to call back to back timeouts (which you can’t do) to ice the kicker, resulting in a 15-yard penalty. Rian Lindell then hit the game winning field goal without any trouble.
Seahawks 28, Eagles 24 – You know, that’s why A.J. Feeley is A.J. Feeley. 4 picks in the game, three of them to Lofa Tatupu. The first two led to Seattle scores, and the last one killed a drive set up by a Brian Westbrook 64-yard punt return late in the 4th quarter.
Titans 28, Texans 20 – Albert Haynesworth is back on D, and that D pasted Matt Schaub and knocked him out of hte game. Vince Young threw for two TDs and nearly 250 yards in the win.
Chargers 24, Chiefs 10 – Gee. Two TDs, 177 yards rushing for LaDainian Tomlinson. Do you think Norv’s figured out that running behind the best back in the league might get you a win? The Bolts sacked Damon Huard or Tyler Thigpen eight times in the game.
Vikings 42, Lions 10 – Purple Jesus is back, people. 2 TDs, 116 yards. Tavaris Jackson actually had a good offensive game with 204 yards passing and two TDs of his own. I know this Detroit team is free-falling and the defense was suspect to begin with, but getting any production out of Jackson is a major bonus for Minnesota.
Rams 28, Falcons 16 – Now there’s a compelling QB matchup: Gus Frerotte and Chris Redman. Frerotte got the better of the two, throwing three TDs and surviving after giving up two picks.
Jets 40, Dolphins 13 – Ah, the glories of 0-12. Wearing the New York Titans throwbacks again, the Jets opened it up on the hapless Dolphins: Leon Washington had two scores, one on a direct snap rush and the other on a shovel pass from Kellen Clemens. Meanwhile, John Beck has yet to lead the Fins to an offensive touchdown, with three picks and two fumbles lost today.
Panthers 31, 49ers 14 – Guess the Panthers aren’t as hapless as the Niners yet. They got their first home win of the season as Vinny Testaverde threw two TDs. Trent Dilfer, once again filling in four Alex Smith again, threw two scores and four picks.
