A Fool and His Money, Week 9.

Aw, such warm fuzzies from Dungy and the Hobo in this old photo. Last week: 9-4.  Overall: 63-53.  Home teams in CAPS.

Panthers (+4.5) over TITANS – Carolina’s won all its road games while Tennesse is undefeated at home. Anemic offense on both sides, I say a field goal margin.

BUCCANEERS (-3.5) over Cardinals – Jeff Garcia is better than whomever the Cardinals will be trotting out.

Redskins (-3.5) over JETS – Really? Only three and a half? I think last week’s beatdown from the Pats really skewed the line. Against patsies like the Jets, the Redskins are fine.

SAINTS (-3.5) over Jaguars – No Marcus Stroud inside is a problem, and Drew Brees is picking it up.

Chargers (-7.5) over VIKINGS – Fantasy Jesus squares off against Purple Jesus. LDT will be winning thanks to the connections being made by Phil Rivers and Antonio Gates this season.

49ers (+2.5) over FALCONS – Alex Smith, bad shoulder, samll hands, and all, is still a preferable option to Joey Harrington. At least Smith’s receivers can catch the ball.

Packers (+2.5) over CHIEFS – Again, really? Is the Chiefs’ run defense much better than the Broncos? Their secondary certainly isn’t and Brett Favre and his receivers were able to beat both Champ Bailey and Dre Bly for touchdowns on Monday.

LIONS (-3.5) over Broncos – I won’t be picking for Denver until Mike Shanahan decides to make an aggressvie play call in the red zone again.

Bengals (+1.5) over BILLS – Right, Cincy’s secondary sucks, but Buffalo’s isn’t a hell of a lot better, and I’ll give the nod to the better collection of offensive talent.

Patriots (-5.5) over COLTS – No running up the score, I think this will be an NE win by 10 points. Both offenses score fast, but I think the Patriots can get a fumble or a pick for a score along the way.

RAIDERS (-3.5) over Texans – Home team building to get better hosts a team falling apart.  Seems fairly obvious due to banged up Houston squad.

EAGLES (+3.5) over Cowboys – I think Philly is capable of making a statement game here against Dallas at home. Whether Andy Reid can get out of his own way enough to do it is another matter.

STEELERS (-8.5) over Ravens – Baltimore can’t score and the defense is having trouble keeping teams out of hte end zone. It’s hard to believe they’re even 4-3 at this point.

  2. Looking forward to this game. God I can’t stand Billy, he pulled that no-eye-contact handshake crap with Manning after the AFC Championship game when Manning went out of his way to give Belicheck post-game love. F that guy, go Colts.
