Rushing The Field: Running Up The Score.

Lousiana State 45, Mississippi State 0 – Let the campaign of Sylvester Croom’s final season as Bulldog coach begin with an ultimate pasting by the class of the conference.  MSU QB Michael Henig tied a record with six interceptions, three of them to Craig Steltz, and said post game that he’d have to try and get by it with a lot of prayer. Son, prayer isn’t going to help if you’re throwing to the purple jerseys instead of the white ones.

Louisville 73, Murray State 10 – Brian Brohm gets the Heisman campaign off to a rousing start against a I-AA level cupcake with 375 yards passing and 4 TDs before leaving 20 seconds into the second half.

Rutgers 38, Buffalo 3 – Three TDs and 184 yards for Ray Rice, two TD catches for Tiquan Underwood, and 328 passing yards for QB Mike Teel. Ouch.

Boise State 56, Weber State 7 – Three more TDs for Ian Johsnon to go with 129 yards, as part of seven touchdowns on their first seven possessions.  Weber State had two first downs in the entire first half.

  1. I was very impressed with LSU’s Defense but their offense needs to improve in order to mke the BCS Title Game.
