The reason why Amare Stoudemire is able to go off for 36 points and 11 boards — and why the Suns looked like the pre-Shaq team — is because the Warriors essentially work on the same premise but with even less defense at times, if that’s possible. Steve Nash had 21, Raja Bell 18, Diaw 16, and Barbosa 14. When you make half of your threes, you can overcome a 38-point night by Baron Davis (Nash, you still stink on defense!)
Caron Butler is back, and the Cavs better take notice in case they have to play the Wizards come playoff time. Butler scored 28 in the Wizards’ victory while LeBron got 25 on a poor shooting percentage.
Locking down on defense after giving up more than 100 points in their last seven games helped for the Kings, as they kept the Blazers under that point and got 22 from Ron Artest in a 96-85 win.
