Stealing Signals: Getting Used To Your New Home.

Apologies for the late posting. This may likely be the only post, as I’m celebrating a quarter century of futility on earth today (read: birthday), and am still recovering from whiskey shots and Irish car bombs last night — plus, I’ve got the dreaded night-shift/graveyard double shift tonight. Ugh.

Braves 12, Astros 3 – Mark Teixeira is settling right in nicely at Turner Field, hitting a home run in the eighth inning and driving in four runs overall. The rest of the Braves’ lineup welcomed his presence, putting up another football score on the Astros.

Yankees 8, White Sox 1 – A-Rod can’t buy a home run right now. Jeter, Shelley Duncan, Robinson Cano, and Jorge Posada all hit ‘em (Posada twice).

Dodgers 6, Giants 4 – Neither can Barry Bonds, who went 0-for-3 with a walk. Luis Gonzalez hit a tying two-run double in the eighth, and Nomar drove him in as well as himself with a two-run homer.

Royals 5, Twins 3 – Alex Gordon hits a two-run job in the 10th for the go-ahead runs, but today’s game has been canceled due to the bridge collapse of I-35W near the Metrodome — they smartly played last night’s game, not wanting more people driving to hamper the recovery efforts.

Mets 8, Brewers 5 – Two three-run homers by Marlon Anderson and Ramon Castro basically knocked the Brewers back, and when Oliver Perez calmed down and threw strikes, it was pretty much over.

Mariners 8, Angels 7 – This one’s heating up. Yuniesky Betancourt gets the game winning single in the bottom of the 12th off Justin Speier, driving in Adrian Beltre for the win.

Diamondbacks 9, Padres 5 – The flood comes in the 11th inning, as Eric Byrnes drives in the go-ahead run and Chad Tracy adds insurance with a three-run homer to overcome a blown save by Roberto Valverde in the 9th.
