Signal to Noise

I like watching golf on TV, but I hate playing it myself. It’s hellishly annoying to try and get that tiny ball into the cup, and frankly, the only thing that has made my irregular trips to the course tolerable has been the beer we snuck into the golf bag. That said, if the golf trip happened to have, say, strippers, on it, it would improve my interest considerably.

Recently, one Pennsylvania golf course was riddled with complaints about women giving lap dances to golfers at a sponsored outing last month. Obviously, there must be something about PA-area golf courses, as Philly’s NBC affiliate did an investigative report at another local course, and caught more strippers from Club Risque giving the gentlemen on the course similar services. Within minutes of driving through the Northeast Philadelphia neighborhood, NBC 10’s Harry Hairston looked out of the passenger window and spotted a topples [sic] woman fondling her breast.

And when Hairston and his photographer stopped for a closer look, they saw more than just fondling. One by one golf carts pulled up. After a little bit of talking, the golf carts started rocking with lap dances and when the hot session cooled, the man handed over cash.

I’m wondering when strip clubs started sponsoring golf outings, because a club spokesperson told the station this, and that the women were only supposed to be in bikinis the whole time. Keith Olbermann, naturally, ran it on Countdown last night, and gave it a fitting title: “Tee and A Time.” All I can add is: ladies and gentlemen, play away!
