A’s DH/C Mike Piazza will be pressing charges after an unusual incident at the Big A last night — he got pelted with a water bottle by a fan while standing in the on-deck circle. Roland Flores, 22, of La Puente, spent the night at an Anaheim jail. However, we have it on good sources* that Angels GM Bill Stoneman is making a quick trip to the facility with a minor league offer for Flores. Associates were said to have overhead Stoneman muttering, “Jesus, what control, and at least we could get someone outside of Lackey and Escobar that isn’t afraid to give a motherfucker some chin music every once in a while.”
Said associates also noted that Stoneman hoped the quick recruitment of Flores would get him off the hook for the rumored trade deadline deal he had no intention of picking up the phone and trying to make for the third straight year.
