Cavaliers 88, Pistons 82 – Finally. If you wanted a response game from LeBron James, you got what you were looking for, as 32, 9, and 9 is a damn good line by anyone’s standards. The question is whether he’ll be able to repeat that feat at a consistent pace over the next few days, because that is clearly what he will have to do if some of his teammates continue to brick shots like they did. Ilgauskas, Pavlovic, and Gooden all were in double figures, but there were some disgustingly open shots missed on the floor by the Cavaliers, and to expect Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton to play as poorly as they did in tonight’s game for the rest of the series is asking a lot. Cleveland does have a tendency to play defense better than some of us would have expected, and that should at least make Game Four exciting. James acknowledged post-presser that he had to change his routine, increase the intensity and aggression of his game, and it paid off. Whether he can keep it up for the rest of the series is another question entirely.
